INDIANAPOLIS — February 19, 2008 — Firestone Building Products Company, LLC (FSBP) awarded 262 roofing contractors in the U.S., Canada and Mexico with the 2008 Firestone Master Contractor Award. This year’s recipients were presented the award during a recognition event held at the Desert Springs, A JW Marriott Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, Calif.
The Master Contractor Award recognizes the industry’s leading commercial roofing contractors. Created in 1988, the Firestone Master Contractor program remains one of the most prestigious award programs and coveted achievements in the industry. Collectively, the 2008 Master Contractors completed 9,344 jobs and installed approximately 2,207,156,808-square-feet of warranted Firestone roofing systems last year.

The Master Contractor program also honors contractors with two other distinctive awards: the President’s Club Award and the Inner Circle of Quality Award. Each award is based on Firestone-set criteria.
Master Contractor Award
The Master Contractor award is presented each year to Firestone-licensed roofing contractors based on total square footage and Quality Points accumulated for achieving exceptional inspection ratings on Firestone Red Shield warranted RubberGard EPDM, UltraPly TPO, UNA-CLAD metal and asphalt roofing system installations.
President’s Club Award
In addition to Master Contractor status, 32 roofing firms received the distinguished 2008 President’s Club Award. The award honors Master Contractors who accumulate the highest level of Quality Points.
Inner Circle of Quality Award
The Inner Circle of Quality Award recognizes a select group of Master Contractors for their long-term roof installation performance and continuous focus on quality. This year, 154 contractors qualified for the award by achieving 2008 Master Contractor status, installing a minimum of four warranted Firestone roofs in each of the past five years, maintaining at least two million square feet of Firestone roofs under warranty, and achieving an annual Quality Incidence Rating (QIR) of 2.0 or less. The Firestone QIR measures each contractor’s quality performance based on warranty repair incidences per million square feet under warranty.
All 2008 Firestone Master Contractor Award recipients receive a variety of benefits, including: cooperative advertising funds to assist with local marketing efforts; personalized letters of achievement for use in submittal packages; an invitation to a world-class resort; an Internet listing on Firestone’s Web site; a commemorative award; discounts on Firestone clothing and accessories; and localized publicity.
