Firestone Enters Green Roofing Market Through Partnerships with LiveRoof, LLC and SunPower Corporation

LAS VEGAS — February 21, 2008 — Firestone Building Products Company, LLC, headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., recently announced alliances with two leaders in eco-friendly commercial roofing solutions – LiveRoof®, LLC and SunPower Corporation (Nasdaq: SPWR), a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels, and solar systems. The new partnerships will allow Firestone to expand its already diverse product offerings into the continuously expanding green markets with new garden roofing and solar electric power roofing systems. Firestone announced the new alliances during the 2008 International Roofing Expo, February 21-23.

The LiveRoof “pre-vegetated” invisible-modular green roof system offered by Firestone is designed to simplify installation by roofing contractors and features engineered drainage components that will help eliminate harmful standing water. Available for a wide range of deck types, the LiveRoof system provides a more than 95 percent vegetated surface and its unique pre-vegetation results in minimal weeding and maintenance. The garden roofing system also offers many long-term benefits including improved energy efficiency, reduced thermal and UV degradation, decreased heat-island effect in surrounding areas, and purified and reduced storm-water run-off. Firestone and SunPower Solar Electric Roofing System
Firestone’s partnership with SunPower has resulted in a new solar electric power roofing system offering. SunPower’s high efficiency solar power systems are used in conjunction with Firestone ISO 95+ polyiso insulation and a solid roofing substrate. SunPower’s solar power systems maximize solar-energy output, while Firestone ISO 95+ offers high-energy efficiency that helps conserve fuel while heating and cooling the building.
