LAS VEGAS — February 21, 2008 — Firestone Building Products Company, LLC, headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., recently introduced the new UNA-CLAD UC-14 Roofing System. Firestone announced the new metal system during the 2008 International Roofing Expo, February 21-23.
The UC-14 system’s continuous interlocking design includes an easy, snap-together seam that reduces installation time as it requires no mechanical seaming or separate battens. Also, the UC-14 system is compliant with the ASTM E1592 standard for uniform static air pressure, ATSM E1646 standard for water penetration, ASTM E1680 standard for air infiltration, UL 580 Class 90 listed, and is eligible for Firestone Red Shield Warranty coverage up to 20 years.
“Firestone’s new UC-14 system is ideal for many projects because it can accommodate very long panels and nearly unlimited thermal movement,” said Robert Anderson, metal product manager for Firestone Building Products. “The UC-14 system has a rigid seam that stands 1 ¾” high and a concealed clip for added protection and easy installation.”
Available with a factory-injected, in-seam sealant, the UC-14 system can be installed over Firestone ISO 95+ polyiso insulation, and used with other Firestone roofing systems as part of a roofing assembly with a single-source warranty. The UC-14 system is offered in a wide variety of KYNAR® paint and coil-anodized finishes, as well as copper, and is available with stiffing ribs, striations and embossing design options.
