Updated UNA-CLAD Firestone Metal Code Approval Guide

As the complexity of the metal roofing industry continues to expand, it is imperative that when specific code or wind uplift requirements are specified, the right assembly is chosen. In addition to simply finding the approval, it is just as important to clearly understand the attachment methods required. In order to assist you, Firestone is pleased to introduce an updated and expanded Metal Roof System Code Approval Guide. 

Located on the Firestone Technical Database, at http://technicaldatabase.fsbp.com, the new UNA-CLAD Metal Roof System Code Approval Guide incorporates newly formatted and easier to read charts, along with numerous new approvals for Firestone Metal Roofing Systems. These new features include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Improved UL External Fire Rated Assembly Formatting

         - Addition of UC-14 to the Fire Rated Assemblies

  • Newly formatted and improved UL-580 Class 90 deck constructions

         - Easy to read charts that include deck configuration, insulation requirements, underlayment
           options, panel types & widths, as well as clip and fastener spacing
         - All the information in one guide eliminates searching the UL website for assembly
           requirements
         - Includes 2 new UC-6, and 16 new UC-14, UL 580 Class 90 approved assemblies

  • Updated State of Florida Product Approvals to include UC-14 and UC-500 panels
  • Updated Miami-Dade Approvals to include N.O.A. numbers and system type
  • Approvals for the Florida Building Code (HVHZ) TAS 100-95 Wind Driven Rain test utilizing the UC-3, UC-4, UC-6 and UC-14 panel configurations
  • The addition of results for the ASTM E283 and E1680 Air Infiltration Tests, utilizing UC-1, UC-3, UC-4, UC-6 and UC-14 panel configurations
  • The addition of results for the ASTM E331 and E1646 Water Penetration Tests, utilizing UC- 1, UC-2, UC-3, UC-4, UC-6 and UC-14 panel configurations
  • The addition of results based on the ASTM E330 Structural Performance Test, utilizing UC-1, UC-2, UC-3, UC-4 and UC-7 panels
  • The addition of results based on the ASTM E1592 Structural Performance Test, utilizing UC-3, UC-4, UC-6 and UC-14 panels

  11. User has read and agrees to abide by all of the rules and regulations set forth in this Terms of Use Any failure to follow said rules and regulations shall require User to immediately cease use of the Materials and, at FSBP's request, either destroy or return any Materials. User shall be liable for any claims and/or damages to FSBP and its related entities.
